(RNS) This year during Ramadan — the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar when Muslims believe the Quran was first revealed to the Prophet Muhammad — I was in solidarity with my Muslim sisters and brothers throughout the world by reading the Quran.
But here's the thing: I am a Roman Catholic.
My copy of the Quran, with more than 1,700 pages, has sat on the top shelf of my bedroom bookcase among other sacred texts for 14 years.
Typically I would use it as a sporadic reference and resource to better understanding Islam, reading a few short passages at a time.
However, this Ramadan something at the core of my being was calling me to read the Quran in its entirety. And so my monthlong Ramadan journey began.
Each day and …More

Doubtless, while the Qur'an contains some truths, it does not contain the complete truth, because Muslims, while they say Christ is a prophet, in practice they do not want to know anything about Christ. This is proved but their destruction of churches bearing the cross of Christ. If Muslims were truthful and really interested in the person of Jesus Christ then they would take practical steps to discover Christ in the sacred scriptures of the Bible, as a starting point. This general reticence on the part of Muslims must derive from their exclusive faith in the Qur'an. A comparison is with football enthusiasts who follow the fortunes of, for example, Pele and Maradonna. As an ardent sports enthusiast would I not want to find out everything I could about my sporting heroes? Why are Muslims different when it comes to Christ? The answer to this question might be found in the book they consider to be so sacred, that in defence of their scripture, they are prepared to commit ... you know what.
More particularly, commenting on " ... my essential holiness ..." According to the Bible no one is holy unless they are " in Christ ". But in practice Muslims even deny that Christ really suffered on the cross - just check this out.
My message to Muslims is this: Stop shouting in the streets and start using your God given intelligence.

Maybe you should go to work for the white house. They would be certain to buy into your stupidity! No matter what you should not be in any position of leadership unless it is head pew warmer. And people wonder why there is division in the Body of Christ. 🤬 And last but not least, you claim to have read 1700 pages in 3 weeks. Thats 566 pages per week. I wish I had a job that allowed me to read the equivelint of the Holy Bible every 3 weeks. Either you are a volunteer or you are over-paid. 😡

I pray the readers of the Quran, who are in invincible ignorance of the teaching of Jesus Christ, may, before they die, hear His words found in the Christian sacred scriptures; that unless we are born again of water and the Spirit, we cannot enter the kingdom of heaven. Did you learn dear Kathleen Duff, that Mohammed was a demon-obsessed, murdering anti-Semitic pedophile?
Did you learn that in his wretched life he organized and had carried out sixty-seven military campaigns, twenty-seven of them he led personally?

Did you learn dear Kathleen Duff, that Mohammed was a demon-obsessed, murdering anti-Semitic pedophile?

Did you learn that in his wretched life he organized and had carried out sixty-seven military campaigns, twenty-seven of them he led personally?

Did you also learn that he preformed NO miracles and died for No ONES sins? Did you learn any of that, you freakin' idiot?

Catholic my a$$. You're an idiot.

It’s OK to study from a scholarly POV. Thing is, you’ll have to bite your tongue when you come across the many heresies (Jesus not being the Son of God, Abraham told to sacrifice Ishmael instead of Isaac, Mahomet’s rewriting of God’s law, ad nauseam), but it’s useful to actually know the differences so that anyone from a Biblical background who might be getting sucked into that belief can be dissuaded.

“The Quran inspired me, taught me and helped me to remember my essential holiness and how that holiness in the image of God should be reflected in the world.”

This woman is a complete and total idiot.

The only thing the Quran ever helped me remember is how much I hated reading Mein Kampf.
Turns out they’re the same book.
And they met the same fate in my garbage can.

Anyone who likes or respects the Quran cannot be trusted: their judgement is utterly questionable.
---------------------------------------------

The Quran inspired me, taught me and helped me to remember my essential holiness and how that holiness in the image of God should be reflected in the world.

ROTFLMAO, even when God was SPECIFICALLY ordering Joshua to wreck havoc upon the Hittites, the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Perrizites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites He did not PERPETUALLY order/allow the Israelites to rape the women as long as they did not get them pregnant. What an intellectual weak and blinded fool this female is.
--------------------------------------

Yeah, catholics can learn lots from the Qur'an.

Like this one, which has always guided my path to living a Godly life, leading to Heaven:
Quran; Surah 004: Ayah 089:
Take not friends from their ranks until they flee in the way of Allah. Seize them and slay them wherever ye find them.

--------------------------------------------

Quote:
“The Quran inspired me, taught me and helped me to remember my essential holiness and how that holiness in the image of God should be reflected in the world.”

This individual is either illiterate and a fake or a consumate liar who has serious comprehension deficit with regard to the volume claimed to have been read.

There is no possible way to interpret Sura 1. . .the first chapter as not denegrating all non-believers . . .and continue to believe that book in its entirety is "reflecting an image of God in the world."

To her everlasting shame, this deceit is unforgivable.
