Priest Killed Over Private Farm

Father Josephat Kasambula, 68, the curate at Lwamata Parish, was murdered on 6pm (August 18) in Lukunyu, Uganda, when he inspected his 15-acre farm (Monitor.co.ug, August 19).

He had owned the farm for over 20 years but didn’t visit it for a long time and found the farmhouse occupied by a man, a marijuana addict, who had been planting seasonal crops like maize and beans and was selling them.

Kasambula asked the man how he came to the farm and received no answer. Therefore, he ordered those who had accompanied him to enter the house and throw out everything. The priest remained outside with the man who stabbed him in the back, killing him instantly.
