Gaza: Good Friday Christmas in Jordan

The Council of the Heads of Churches in Jordan has announced the cancellation of all Christmas activities such as bazaars, musical activities, gifts for children, and decorations (Abouna.org, November 6).

The decision was taken “out of respect for the innocent victims and their blood shed in Gaza and throughout Palestine.” Celebrations will be limited to prayers and liturgies.

The council denounces “in the harshest and strongest terms the barbaric acts committed by the Israeli aggression committed against humanity and in violation of all international norms.”

Church collections for next Sunday will go to the Gaza Strip.
