I don't know what the Archbishop's motives are, but like England, the streets of Italy are not paved with gold, so I would agree with him. Last time I was in Rome was in 2001. I felt unsafe most of the time I was there. I was assaulted by begging Roma (gypsy) people - and the Islamic presence was far more noticeable than previous years I'd been there. I'd never go there again.
