Relics attributed to St Peter found in Rome?

During renovation work in the Roman church Santa Maria in Cappella, two Roman pots of relics were found in an altar. The church was consecrated in 1090. The inscriptions attest that the relics contained in the two pots are of Saint Peter and of the Popes Cornelius, Calixtus and Felix, who were originally buried in different cemeteries.

According to La Stampa nothing can yet be said about the origin of the relics or their authenticity. They were handed over to the Roman diocese, which has sealed them.
