Francis Sends Curia Official to Paraguay
Before taking up his new post, Turturro will be ordained a bishop. He is a priest of the Italian diocese of Molfetta. In 2015 he became number 2 at the Nunciature of Buenos Aires. There he was confronted with information about Bishop Zanchetta's homosexual assault of seminarians and is said to have handled the matter correctly. But then Francis protected his friend Zanchetta and created a job for him in the Vatican.
Since August 2019, Turturro has been serving as special secretary to Cardinal Pietro Parolin.
