Hindus and Christians in Dialogue.

"God, man and nature" is the theme of a symposium promoted by the Focolare movement in Rome that ended on May 29; it gathered for the third time a group of Hindus and Catholics.

"I think the most fundamental element that binds both religions is the love of God and the universal brotherhood among human beings. So the love of God is infinite and that is the element which can connect both religious traditions in my view."

"Not only do we understand other religions but such dialogue help us also understand our religion better and that brings us together because ultimately we learn that every religion emphasizes eternal, ethical and moral values like love, truth, giving, sharing, compassion, etc."

"What unites is the feeling and the emotion of love and the God centred attitude and what is very important is the dialogue which is taking place between the Christians, the dialogue of life, the dialogue of culture."

"In fact we Indians have the goal in which we say that we have to feel the world with nobility but before that first we have to feel the world with love, and nobility will follow it."

"We Christians are learning to open up to people from other religions, to realize the value of other cultures and therefore this is a very positive aspect. Christianity or the culture in Europe has lost many values that Hinduism and the traditional Hindu culture still maintain."
