Homosex-Activist Tobin Accepts Orthodox Polygamy

An "ecumenical group" co-chaired by Newark Cardinal Joseph Tobin wants the Church to "recognise" immoral [pseudo] marriages of divorcees contracted in Orthodox churches.

The Orthodox do not respect Christ's prohibition of divorce. Tobin famously wrote a "Nighty-night, baby" message allegedly to his sister in 2018 while a homosexual was living with him in his private apartment.

The "ecumenical group" published a paper on 5 March, which they had already agreed to in May 2023. Among the recommendations is this:

"Catholic hierarchs seek ways to accept the pastoral decisions of Orthodox ecclesiastical courts and hierarchs, and not only recognise with the Orthodox hierarchy the remarriages, in some carefully examined cases [= "individual case" trick], of divorced spouses [= adulterers] in mixed marriages, but also allow such divorced and remarried Catholic parties [= adulterers], in marriages with Orthodox Christians, Eucharistic participation in the Catholic Church."

Back in May 2023, Tobin said that the meeting "marks a turning point".

The Orthodox have not only failed to maintain priestly celibacy, but also accept [pseudo] marriages for divorcees, even after two or more [pseudo] marriages.

However, Rev Michael Fuller, general secretary of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, issued an unusual "Catholic disclaimer" at the top of the document. He stated that the document had "no authority beyond that of the dialogue commission itself".

Whoever signed that document is not Catholic. The Catholic Church has held, at least since St. Peter, that heretics and schismatics, being outside the Church, have absolutely no authority. Whoever signed that document is not Catholic. The Catholic Church has held, at least since St. Peter, that heretics and schismatics, being outside the Church, have absolutely no authority. They cannot licitly offer Mass, nor can they licitly hear confessions. Further, they cannot licitly witness weddings, not can their bishops confer confirmation. Their bishops, while actual bishops, have no jurisdiction, supplied or otherwise, and thus cannot have a marriage tribunal, cannot declare on nullity, and cannot declare on matters of Faith and morals.

Note well: those who, like Nighty-Night Tobin, will accept as licit and valid declarations of schismatics and heretics will also tell you that you confirmations, weddings, and confessions of sedevacantist priests are invalid, and you cannot go to them. In other words, those who absolutely reject Dogmas of the faith, like the primacy of the See of Peter, are totally fine. Those who uphold ALL the dogmas of the Faith are not.

If St. Eusebius, as a layman, can declare, during the homily of Nestorius in which he uttered his blasphemous heresy, "Heresy! We have no bishop!" We can rest assured that we have the SAME observational power, and the same responsibility. The Archdiocese of Newark is headless.

In a way the Orthodox are more honest than we are. The Church has granted annulments like candy (at least down to about 20,000 per year in the USA from about 60,000 forty years ago.) But the Orthodox at least call divorce "divorce." We pretend and call it an "annulment." (Not that all Church annulments are hokey, but the numbers above are damaging data.)

Can somewhere be find official data about the "annulments" concerning all catholics arround the globe in last 10, 20 and more years?
