Buenos Aires Has Seven (!) Auxiliary Bishops

On 19 June, Francis appointed three more auxiliary bishops for Buenos Aires: Sergio Dornelles, 50, Pedro Cannavó, 46, and Alejandro Daniel Pardo, 46.

The archdiocese of Buenos Aires (3 million Catholics) already had four auxiliary bishops: Gustavo Carrara, 51, Ernesto Giobando, 64, Joaquín Sucunza, 78, and Alejandro Giorgi, 65.

The three new bishops are all priests from Buenos Aires and were ordained by Cardinal Bergoglio. PillarCatholic.com writes that all three have pastoral experience in the slums of Buenos Aires.

Auxiliary Bishop Ernesto Giobando is currently the apostolic administrator of the troubled diocese of Mar del Plata, which has suffered badly from Francis' amateurish way of appointing bishops.

It seems that Francis wants his priests to be placed in other dioceses around the country, following his project of throwing the Argentine episcopate into long-term chaos.
