"Your cathedral is a living hymn of stone and light" of the Word of God which enters human history, Benedict XVI stated in the Cathedral of Notre-Dame in Paris during the celebration of Vespers.
Thousands of young people waited outside, gathered to listen to the Holy Father and continuing in meditation with a longer prayer vigil throughout the night.
"The Spirit opens new horizons for human intelligence, horizons that supercede it" because "the only true wisdom lies in the greatness of Christ." Benedict XVI encouraged young people to continue on the path marked out at Sydney, to proclaim and bear witness to the Gospel. "It is urgent to speak of Christ around you, to your families and your friends, in your places of study, work or entertainment."
