Cardinal Kasper Wants To Re-Introduce Minor Orders – For Women

Retired Cardinal Walter Kasper, 86, calls for the introduction of "new" female ministries. He gives as examples lectors, distributors of Communion and presiders liturgies of the word, although the Church doesn't need more office-holders, it needs more convinced Catholics.

Besides that, the functions proposed by Kasper have de facto already been introduced years ago. However, up to this day they are called "extraordinary." It is high-time to finally abolish them instead of making them "ordinary".

Kasper explained to LifeSiteNews.com (July 3) that the Church could provide women with a “non-sacramental, liturgical blessing”. He compared this to the blessing bestowed upon abbesses [or on homosexuals on Saint Valentine's day?].

In the early days of the ongoing post-conciliar nightmare, in 1972, the four minor orders - acolyte, exorcist, lector and porter - were rebranded “ministries.”
