Leo XIV is "a man of God, he is a pastor, he is a very kind person, he listens, he is attentive," the rector of the cathedral of Chiclayo, Jorge Millan Cotrina, Peru, told the Argentinean "Radio Con Vos 89.9" (May 9). Millan lived with other priests in the residence of the bishop, now Pope Leo XIV, for 8 years. Main points.

- "Any priest who wanted to speak to Bishop Prevost simply called him on his telephone. He never said talk to the secretary, make an appointment, nothing like that. He received everyone, he answered messages quickly, very kind, very attentive, very thoughtful."

I love the Holy Father…..really, I do. But he can’t stay “Mr. Nice Guy” forever. As the newly elected Supreme Pontiff raised up to lead the Church drowning in the greatest catastrophic darkness since the Arian Crisis, he’s going to have to grow a strong steel-hardened spine, if he hopes to have any chance of success. The whole “Good-Guy” thing, “Mr. Smiley” and always congenial with a “let’s all hold hands and sing Kumbaya” mentality will NOT work when it come to leading the Vatican and those heretics and apostates embedded in it. He’s going to have to boldly, fearlessly and OPENLY show, display and demonstrate quickly and very severely that he’s made of sterner, stricter stuff than that, or they’ll run over him roughshod like a renegade Freight Train, and his embryonic Pontificate — for all practical purposes—will be over before it even began. He must teach them an immediate lesson, that HE IS PETER and that he’s not to be played with, but that he’s serious and invincibly determined to reform the whole Church and will brook NO disobedience at all whatsoever or allow anyone to stand in his way. If he’s going to have a snowball’s chance in hell to succeed he’s got to stand up tall on his own two feet and bring in his own people, and surround himself only with those whom he trusts. He doesn’t have to be another Pope Saint Pius V but he does need to be another Pope Saint Leo the Great……or at least another Archbishop Lefebvre, who too served faithfully, determinedly and tirelessly as a Missionary in the foreign mission fields, just as the new Holy Father once did. That’s the only pathway forward.

I agree I am waiting to see. In the mean time I am reading a lot of great things from people who actually knew him. And you can't forget all the signs either. My hopes are up. I will keep them up till he shows he is not what I believe him to be. Then I will just ignore him from then on. Right now I will not attack a man who just became a Pope. Not saying you are. But many are.
