PETITION FOR CATHOLIC SHEPHERDS TO ACKNOWLEDGE, CONFIRM, AND TEACH THE TRADITIONAL CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH REGARDING ABORTION AND EUTHANASIA

As a culture of death encroaches more and more upon society and the lives of Catholics, those who wish to remain true to the Traditional Catholic faith herein petition and expect the local hierarchy of the Catholic church to acknowledge, confirm, and publicly teach traditional church dogma regarding abortion and euthanasia. We perceive the need to do this due to the confusion of the laity and the silence of the Catholic shepherds regarding abortion and euthanasia. To illustrate, the Council of Trent called abortion a "most heinous crime" and taught that the 5th Commandment (You shall not kill.) "also includes suicide." The most recent Catholic catechism (1983) is even more explicit and states, "Formal cooperation in an abortion constitutes a grave offense. The Church attaches the canonical penalty of excommunication to this crime against human life…" (2272) Yet, Catholics are volunteering and working at Planned Parenthood without reproof. Catholic politicians support abortion in legislation without public outcry or public warning from the hierarchy. Pope Francis recently declared we should NOT even warn that participating in abortion/euthanasia is a mortal sin. Such is a scandal to the laity and to the world.
Therefore, those signing below are requesting and expecting the Catholic hierarchy to warn those supporting and participating in abortion and euthanasia that they are excommunicating themselves and should not receive the Eucharist until they make a sacramental confession and turn away from such activities. The Holy Scripture states, " Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thy heart, but reprove him openly, lest thou incur sin through him." [Leviticus 19:17] Also, "All scripture, inspired of God, is profitable to teach, to reprove, to correct, to instruct in justice,"[2 Timothy 3:16] And again, "Preach the word: be instant in season, out of season: reprove, entreat, rebuke in all patience and doctrine." [2 Timothy 4:2] Jesus said, " "Judge not according to the appearance, but judge just judgment." [John 7:24]. Jesus also said, "…for by the fruit the tree is known." [Matthew 12:33] [Emphasis added]. We do not judge by appearances or judge the sinner, but judge the sin (the fruit). One of the acts of mercy is to correct the sinner. How then can it be considered merciful to NOT warn people involved in abortion and euthanasia that they have excommunicated themselves from the Body of Christ?
Wherefore, we ask that you, as Catholic shepherds, lead the sheep away from the wolves of human sacrifice of abortion and euthanasia and to publicly denounce the wolves.
