Masses Cost Too Much?
Many New York Catholics are not aware that Cardinal Dolan has asked all Pastors to try to cut down on the number of Masses in all the parishes, writes Monsignor Joseph Giandurco in the parish bulletin of St. Patricks in Yorktown Heights. According to Giandurco the Cardinal’s reasons for this measure are, “fewer priests available in parishes as well as rising costs for everything involved in having too many Masses.”
OfficeMax Refuses to Print Gay-Critical Flier
An OfficeMax in Marshfield, Wisconsin, refused to print a flier submitted by Wisconsin Christian News advertising a November 16 speech of Peter LaBarbera on the “homosexual agenda”. The flier shows a homosex flag and the words, “The Homosexual Agenda EXPOSED!”. According to Office Max the flier falls – quote - “under the prohibited guidelines of our company’s Duplication procedures.” Office Max has been in the news for refusing to print a pro-life flier.
U.S. Will Know Economic Ruin
Father Charles P. Becker of the Archdiocese of Chicago, the U.S. responsible of the Marian Movement of Priests, quoted in a speech published by Matt Abbott the words of the German mystic Therese Neumann who said– quote - "that America will not know war on its soil, but it will know economic ruin through natural disasters."
British Academia Hates the Church
British Academia is a hotbed of anticlerical feeling according to Birmingham Professor James Arthur. According to him British academia is rife with “secular anti-Catholicism”. Speaking in Glasgow Arthur said he had been at ‘too many dinner parties among university academics’ to deny that “anti-Catholicism is the last acceptable bigotry in Britain.” His conclusion, “Protestant anti-Catholicism has long been superseded by secular anti-Catholicism.”
