Ultimate human happiness is contemplating the truth. We know this for 5 reasons. 1. Contemplation is the only uniquely human activity, shared with no animals 2. It is not directed to any other end, but we seek truth for its own sake 3. By knowing divine things we become more united to God 4. Contemplation is the most self-sufficient of human activities 5.
