Leo XIII was the scourge of Liberal Catholics, Modernists and Freemasonry, "Humanum genus." He mandated Thomistic philosophical and theological training in Catholic seminaries and universities for the first time to combat Kantian and modernist philosophies in seminary training. In "Rerum Novarum," he taught the principles of true Catholic social doctrine based on the relationship between capital and labour, and outlined the responsibilities of employers toward their workers... light years ahead of its time. Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost, O.S.A.
Cardinal Prevost on Promoting a “Synodal Church”
Prevost is a strong supporter of synodality. He has been described as a “vocal proponent” of Pope Francis’ emphasis on making the Church’s structures more inclusive and participatory, seeing synodality as a way to address polarization within the Church. He connects synodality with the need for consultation and lay involvement.
What to think of the new Pope? Too soon to say.
Not sure if true or not. His Church Latin pronunciation is impeccable. He is a JD so he is fluent in Latin.
Catholic X.com account TC Dixie posted the "quote from an undisclosed friend: Former rector of the Major seminary here says he saw Prevost in Rome privately saying the Tridentine Latin Mass in his private chapel at the congregation of Bishops, 3 or 4 years ago. He wouldn't lie. He has been around quite some time. He had the only indult to say the TLM at the USCCB office in Baltimore back in the 90s."
