SSPX bides its time respecting Divine Providence ie. God allows His Church to be tried and tested in the end times. SSPX’s role: being faithful to “tradidi quod accepit.”
Analogy: SSPX = pilot light. Church = home heating furnace. Holy Ghost / Divine Providence = natural gas.

The SSPX faithfully keeps the flame pilot light of Tradition alive and light while waiting for the return of the Church to the traditional Catholic Faith and to the Catholic Liturgy that the SSPX keeps both “traditional” (Abp Lefebvre kept teaching what he was taught, and could celebrate no other Mass than the one has was taught; and so the SSPX). The SSPX does not define itself primarily as “against”, which can quickly become sectarian, but simply as a healthy, living part of the Church, ready to re-invigorate the Church with the Tradition “lived” “without interruption”since Our Lord Jesus Christ and apostolic times.

Your erroneous opinions and false critique of the SSPX would not even exist without the uninterrupted, silent work of Abp Lefebvre and his foundation, the SSPX.

Do you have SSPX written or photographic proof of The Catacombs’ claim?

If not, The Catacombs is simply the original ‘mis-translator’ of the brochure. In that case, both of you have simply proven the erroneous mistranslation…that’s all, in effect, what you have proven: the error.

The brochure plainly says: “At Bishop Houonder’ specific request (usually in a last Will and testament), honour Bishop Hounder’s memory by donating funds THAT ARE TO BE SENT TO SSPX CHAPELS (implying this is not what the above brochure says. Lastly, ‘honour the memory of’ does not equal ‘build a memorial for or to’ in the plain sense of the french text of the brochure. I am a native French speaker…

I do not believe, as the bishop was modest and humble, that he requested that we build a memorial to him (?!). The text says “at the bishop’s request” ie. will.

It is customary to honour a person’s last wishes unless to do so would be a sin. Bishop Houonder was conditionally consecrated a bishop so why would we not allow his dying wish to be honoured? Are we so sectarian and lacking mercy? There are bigger battles to be fought in the Church today than to attack a deceased bishop’s final request no doubt made in good conscience.

Excommunication is the prerequisite badge of honour that every bishop should be wearing and must wear as it is the holy sacred badge (“not in communion with the Sanhedrin”) that will be required of each of them on judgement day. Our Lord Himself proudly wears His badge of excommunication in His Sacred Hands and Feet after being excommunicated and then crucified by the Great High Priest who rent his garments and the Sanhedrin, the “Vatican of the day” in Jerusalem.
