THIRD DAY
Novena of aguinaldos
Or Christmas
PRAYER TO BEGIN
Every day
By the sign of the holy cross...
Most benign God of infinite charity that you loved men so much, that you gave them in your son the best pledge of your love, so that made a man in the bowels of a Virgin, he was born in a manger for our health and remedy. I, on behalf of all mortals, give you infinite thanks for such sovereign benefit.
In return from Him I offer you the poverty, humility and other virtues of your humanized Son, begging him for his divine merits, for the discomforts with which he was born and for the tender tears he shed in the manger, have our hearts with deep humility, with lit love, with total contempt of everything earthly, so that the newborn Jesus has in them his cradle and lives eternally. Amen.
Glory to the Father (x 3)
It is read about every day.

THIRD DAY
Consideration
Thus had begun his life embodied by the Child Jesus. Let us consider the glorious soul and the holy body he had taken, worshiping them deeply. Admiring in the first place the soul of that divine Child, let us consider in it the fullness of his sanctifying grace; that of his beatific science, by which from the first moment of his life he saw the divine essence more clearly than all the angels and read the past and the future with all his arcane knowledge.
He never knew by voluntary acquisition anything that he did not know by infusion from the first moment of his being; but he adopted all the diseases of our nature to which he could dignifiedly submit, even if they were not necessary for the great work he had to fulfill. Let us ask him that his divine faculties make up for the weakness of ours and give them new energy; that his memory teaches us to remember his benefits, his understanding to think of Him, his will to do but what He wants and in his service.
From the soul of the Child Jesus let us now move on to his body that was a world of wonders, a masterpiece of the hand of God. It was not, like ours, a hindrance for the soul: it was on the contrary, a new element of holiness. He wanted him to be small and weak like all children, and subject to all the discomforts of childhood, to resemble us more and participate in our humiliations.
The Holy Spirit formed that divine body with such delicacy and such capacity to feel, that it could suffer to excess to fulfill the great work of our redemption. The beauty of that body of the divine Child was superior to what he has ever imagined; the divine blood that began to circulate through his veins from the moment of incarnation is the one that washes all the stains of the guilty world. Let us ask him to wash ours in the sacrament of penance, so that on the day of his Christmas he finds us purified, forgiven and willing to receive him with love and spiritual profit.
SENTENCES TO FINISH
Every day
PRAYER TO SAINT JOSEPH
Oh Most Holy Joseph!, husband of Mary and putative father of Jesus, I give infinite thanks to God because he chose you for such high ministries and adorned you with all the gifts proportionate to such excellent greatness.
I beg you, for the love you had for the Divine Child, embrace me in fervent desires to see him and receive him sacramentally, while in his divine Essence I see him and enjoy him in heaven. Amen.
Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory
PRAYER TO THE BLESSED VIRGIN
Sovereign Mary, who for your great virtues and especially for your humility, you deserve that every God chose you as his mother, I beg you that You yourself prepare my soul, and that of all those who in this time made this ninth, for the spiritual birth of your beloved Son.
Oh sweetest mother! Communicate to me something of the deep recollection and divine tenderness with which you waited, so that you make us less unworthy of seeing him, loving him and worshiping him for all eternity. Amen.
Hail Mary and Glory (x 3)
YOU ENJOY THE CHILD JESUS
My sweet Jesus
My beloved child
Come to our souls!
Come, don't take so long!
1
Oh wisdom sum!
Of the Sovereign God
That at the level of a
Child, you have
Discounted!
Oh divine infant!
Come to teach us
The prudence he does
True sages!
2
Oh powerful Adonai!
That, to Moses speaking,
From Israel to the people
You gave the mandates!
Ah! Come soon
To rescue us.
And that a weak child
Show strong arm!
3
Oh sacred root!
Of Jesé, that at the top
You present to the orb
Your fragrant nardo!
Sweetest boy!
That you have been called
Lily of the valley
Beautiful flower of the field!
4
David's key!
That opens to the banished
The closed doors
Of the royal palace!
Get us out, O Child,
With your white hand,
From the sad prison
Who worked the sin!
Oh fire of the East,
Sun of eternal rays,
That among the darkness
Let's see your splendor!
So precious child,
Christian's happiness,
Show off the smile
Of your sweet lips!
6
Spotless mirror!
Holy of the saints,
Unparalleled image
Of the sovereign God!
Erase our faults,
Save the banished
And in the form of a child
Give the miserable shelter!
7
King of the nations
Emmanuel preclaro,
Of Israel longing,
Shepherd of the herd!
Boy, what are you doing?
With soft stick,
And the arisca sheep,
Already the meek lamb!
8
Open the skies!
And it rains from above
Dew benefactor
Like holy irrigation!
Come beautiful boy,
Come humanized God,
It looks beautiful star,
Sprouts flower of the field!
9
Come, María!
Prevent your arms
Do your child see,
In the near time!
Come, that already José,
With sacred longing,
It is about to be done
Of your sacred love!
10
From the weak help
Of the painful amparo,
Comfort of the sad,
Light of the banished!
Life of my life,
My beloved owner,
My constant friend,
My divine brother!
11
See my eyes,
In love with you
Kiss your plants now,
I already kiss your hands!
Prostrate on land
I extend my arms to you,
And even more than my sentences
My crying tells you!
12
Come Salvador, our
For whom we sigh,
Come to our souls,
Come, don't take so long!
PRAYER TO THE CHILD JESUS
Remember, Oh sweetest Child Jesus! That you said to the Venerable Margarita of the Blessed Sacrament, and in her person to all your devotees, these words so comforting for our poor humanity so burdened and painful: "Whatever you want to ask, ask for it for the merits of my childhood and nothing will be denied to you." Full of trust in You, O Jesus, who are the same truth! We come to expose you all our misery. Help us lead a holy life to live a blessed eternity. Grant us, by the infinite merits of your incarnation and your childhood, the grace of which we need so much. We give ourselves to You, O omnipotent Child! Sure that our hope will not be frustrated and that by virtue of your divine promise, you will welcome and send our plea favorably. Amen.
