Poland: A Former Organiser of World Youth Day Arrested for Sexual Abuse

Polish police arrested Rev. Mariusz W., 45, on Monday, accusing him of sexually abusing young women, Polish television TVP reported on Wednesday.

The priest denies the allegations. W. worked as a youth pastor and lectured at a local university. In 2021 he became director of the national organising office for World Youth Days.

Prosecutors in the city of Zamość accuse him of seven offences between 2011 and 2021, including sexual abuse and incitement to make false statements. He faces up to 12 years in prison.

On Tuesday, a court agreed to remand him in custody for three months.

The alleged victims contacted the Diocese of Radom, to which W. belongs, in late 2021. Monsignor Marek Solarczyk, 57, Bishop of Radom, informed the police and suspended W. An investigation has been underway ever since.

Let us remember that the apostate Jorge Mario Bergoglio, during the mockery of the Via Crucis in Poland, blasphemed maliciously using gay language to say: “The Way of the Cross is not a sadomasochistic habit.”
