Dear brothers and sisters, Jesus, in the passage from the Gospel of Matthew that we’re going to listen to on Sunday, October 22, warns us against the hypocritical attitude to contrast the correct autonomy of earthly realities with the sovereignty of God. In fact, when we put God first in our lives, the Spirit of Jesus who lives in us through the greatest power of Love makes us capable of directing all the riches of creation, without destroying the planet, to the glory of God and the common good.
