In the Apostolic Letter Innefabilis Deus in which Pius IX declared the dogma of the Immaculate Conception, he stated without a shadow of doubt that Our Lady is "the most powerful Mediatrix and Conciliatrix of the world before her Only Begotten Son," as transcribed in the text below.
It is a statement that itself alone puts to rest the advice of Card. Victor Fernandez, duly approved by Pope Leo XIV, that Catholics should avoid those titles when referring to the Mother of God.
