Argentinean Bishop Named By Pope Francis Forced To Retire

Pope Francis accepted the resignation of 53-year-old Bishop Gustavo Zanchetta of Orán, Argentina, on August 1.

Zanchetta announced that he was retiring for health reasons while media speak about economic mismanagement and abuse of authority.

Zanchetta was named a bishop in July 2013 by Pope Francis.

He was known to be a careerist and held an important position in the Argentinean Bishops Conference while Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio was its president.
