It really is a “mind game” to say that the bases for the Church’s moral teachings are “no longer plausible.” It wouldn’t be appropriate to call them merely “plausible” at this point, as so many of them have been proven beyond doubt. One obvious example, that modernists go after constantly is that of contraception. How are those birthrates treating us these days? Tolerating what may seem like just a minor bit of unchastity is destroying not only the future, but the present, for North America and Europe.
