Vision Problems: Francis Interrupts Speech

At an August 4 gathering with Portuguese charity workers, Francis had to stop in the middle of his speech because of vision problems.

“There are many things I would like to tell you now but it seems that my ‘headlights’ are not working [the audience laughs] and I cannot read well.” He didn't want to strain his eyes or misread the speech [laughter and applause].

Francis then gave an impromptu speech talking on charity.
