Strange Meeting: While visiting Paraguay, Pope Francis will meet with the controversial homosex lobby group SOMOSGAY. This will be the first time a pope will engage in such an activity. Simon Cazál, the leader of the group, was invited with a letter recognizing the – quote - “large impact of your organization on Paraguayan society”. Ahead of the pope’s visit the group launched a campaign against the Church.

Wrong Allies: Many bishops of the U.S. are not happy about the encyclical of Pope Francis on an alleged climate change. They are wary about getting the Church enmeshed in the debate over the issue, which is contentious in the United States and beyond. They also expressed concern about allying with environmentalists, many of whom promote abortion and contraception as a remedy.

Screw-up: Few hours after the Vatican’s printing house started producing Pope Francis’ encyclical on an alleged climate change, the printing process was interrupted. In addition came the order to destroy all the copies until then printed, to erase all traces of that version. According to the Italian press at the basis of the decision were not minor errors, but important changes the Pope evidently still intends to make to the text.

Strategy of the Germans: The presidents of the African bishops’ conferences met in Accra, Ghana, from June 8-11. They opposed unanimously the strategy of the German bishops to promote divorce and homosexuality sins at the upcoming Synod on the Family. Fr Edouard Ade, the secretary general of the Catholic University of Western Africa, described in a speech the – quote - “unprecedented evaporation of the Christian faith” in Germany. Then he strongly criticized the - quote - “strategy of the Germans” to open loopholes that could be expanded later while affirming in words that there is no intention to change doctrine.
