For the first time ever, the cost of Social Security + Medicare + Medicaid + Interest on the national debt = 100% of government revenue. Defense and every other part of the government could be cut 100% and still couldn’t balance the budget. We have $2 trillion budget deficits and realistically neither party has the will to change this.
