Oceanside Pier Fire Destroys Restaurant, Food Stand
A massive fire erupted at the vacant Ruby’s Diner restaurant on the iconic Oceanside Pier on April 25 in Oceanside, CA. The over 100-year-old pier sustained damage to the west end. The restaurant and The Brine Box food stand were destroyed by the blaze. The fire was first noticed by Oceanside Lifeguards around 3 p.m., leading to the immediate evacuation of the pier. About 105 first responders battled the blaze from the pier, vessels, and helicopters. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
