Giovanni è il protagonista di questo avvento. Un grande, il più grande.
Ma sa che non è lui la luce. Lo ha scoperto, lo ha capito, lo ha accettato trovando il suo posto, la sua collocazione nel grande disegno di Dio.
Il suo messaggio è chiaro: non è degno di slacciare i sandali di chi viene.
Grida, Giovanni e la folla accorre. Gridano i profeti, ancora oggi, e ci invitano a stare desti, a svegliarci. Ancora viene Dio. Non si stanca di noi.
