US Diocese: 21 (!) Out Of 70 Parishes Celebrate Roman Rite

Arlington Bishop Michael Burbidge, 64, announced in a December 20 podcast (ArlingtonDiocese.org) that the 21 (!) parishes in his diocese that celebrate the Roman Mass may continue to do so.

After Vatican Archbishop Roche's rigid and legalistic application document about Traditionis Custodes, Burbidge suspended Roman Rite baptisms and weddings. A final version of the diocesan implementation will be issued later.

Arlington Diocese comprises 70 parishes. There are about 250 priests, and 700,000 Catholics.

I can tell you from first hand experience that our small country parish True Mass is overflowing every Sunday...easily tripling the attendance of the other "New Mass" numbers.

prince0357-----No he won't. Rather, Bishop Burbidge will be an example for bishops in the USA and around the world. There's to many examples than for me to count of dioceses, religious Orders, monasteries, which are ignoring ---hole Francis' "Traditiones Custodes" and Roche's hissy-fit directives. Laity are even encouraging priests to disregard Francis' directives. In Italy where I read afew traditional websites and then had them translated in Google, they are saying that Francis is DEEPLY unpopular there, and young priests are just ignoring him.....so many that the bishops can't disipline them all...it would be too much of a media firestorm. But Francis and his VAtican are looking very, very bad over this.
