The image of the Invisible God
Thursday, December 25 - Solemnity of Holy Christmas
Dear friends, the enormous suffering of so many of our brothers and sisters throughout the world who endure poverty, disease, war, and injustice could cast a shadow on the splendor that the Incarnation of the Word of God made man in the womb of the Virgin Mary radiated throughout human history.
And yet, God the Father "came out of Himself" in the Son precisely to share the cold and frost that evil brings to our existence and, by making the greater power of His love "visible," to save us from sin and death.
God the Father also calls us, believers in Christ, who have known and believed in the love God has for us, to collaborate in the work of salvation.
Actually, when, animated by the fire of God's love poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit given to us, we are capable of sharing and solidarity, the darkness brightens, the cold and frost fade, and the hope of a new and more humane and fraternal world springs up unexpectedly and surprisingly.
Dear brothers and sisters, I wish you all a holy Christmas filled with God's blessings!
