The goal of Afghan war is to help islam as the US have abandoned there $85 billion and to help the communist ideology as the Soviet Union / Russia has been there and got a bad image. The US had to balance this with other Western countries so that the West would look evil and then could accept more islamic ideologues on its soil as it « harmed » the peoples there... It was a fake war as the population in Afghanistan has been multiplied by 2 or 3 times since and given that they gave back the power to the Taliban in order to put it back to the former power.
