Cardinal Gambetti: We Wait for Leo XIV’s Decision on the Latin Mass

TheCatholicHerald.com (Septembr 14) asked Cardinal Mauro Gambetti, 59, Archpriest of St Peter’s Basilica, if he could inquire on the future of the Mass in the Roman rite.

He responded: It is "better not to answer that. I have been told that we will wait for the Holy Father to decide."

Cardinal Gambetti has a reputation in the Vatican for acting more like an incompetent manager than as a pastor. He is said to prioritise spectacles, tourism, foundations, sponsors, money, and media strategy over liturgy and prayer. He has also been accused of nepotism and of surrounding himself with loyalists.

I laugh in their faces!! God gave us the traditional Mass and no lowly bishop has any authority to take it away or limit it whatsoever. I'm convinced that the Novus Ordo was the crowning achievement of hell and that one day the real Church will toss it back there

I’ve been waiting for 60 years.

We've been waiting too long. Get on with it.
