POST-CHRISTIAN UTOPIA: Surveillance Cameras and Spy Satellites.
ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO FROM M.MATT
From ‘The Editor’s Desk,’ Michael J. Matt points to the decline of law and order in the streets of America and Europe, and asks the question: Did the Enlightenment actually enlighten anyone? Do you feel liberated these days, spied on 24/7 by 13,000 satellites in space and hundreds of thousands of surveillance cameras in the streets of the world? Do you think the Spanish Inquistion could have been somehow worse than what’s happening today in Europe? Do you really think the Crusades could’ve been more barbaric than Dresden and Hiroshima? Do you believe the so-called “Dark Ages” of Faith were less enlightened than the New World Order of secularism—where total war is the new normal, billions of unborn babies have been slaughtered and childen shoot up their schools for no reason at all? When do we get to stop with the Fake History? When can we finally admit that our post-Christian “march of progress …More

That's precisely the same kind of failed reasoning that lead to the Inquisition in the first place, Malemp. Anyone who disagrees with your "pet" intellectual is a (witch, satanist, freemason, bergoglian addict, whatever).

You've provided perhaps the only solid evidence supporting one of Mr. Matt's rhetorical questions: "Did the Enlightenment actually enlighten anyone?" It certainly didn't enlighten you.

The sadly funny part is your brand of ignorance and non-logic even predates the Enlightenment. The ancient Greeks who studied with Aristotle and Plato would have found your position just as flawed. .

When do we get to stop with the Fake History? When can we finally admit that our post-Christian “march of progress” is scary as hell? Michael points to the solution—one at which Pope Francis & Co. will laugh, no doubt, since the Second Vatican Council ignored it completely, but the very thing five consecutive popes insisted was the only hope of the world. "the decline of law and order in the streets of America and Europe"
Mr. Matt obviously doesn't know it, but violent crime in the US has been steadily and solidly declining since 1990.
"Did the Enlightenment actually enlighten anyone?"
Yeah, it did. The very technology Mr. Matt is using to complain about the Enlightment is the direct result of the Enlightment's renewed interest in science.

"Do you feel liberated these days, spied on 24/7 by 13,000 satellites in space and hundreds of thousands of surveillance cameras in the streets of the world?"
Cameras don't bother me because when I'm in public, I don't do things that I'd be ashamed to be seen doing. Maybe Mr. Matt does things differently. Google Maps and similar sites are one of the greatest conveniences of our lifetime.

"Do you think the Spanish Inquistion could have been somehow worse than what’s happening today in Europe?"
European leaders today are democratically elected. All their power and their stupidity comes from the people who keep voting for them. The autocrats running Spain weren't. Last time I checked, nobody was being burned alive for witchcraft anymore just because their neighbor's milk curdled.

"Do you really think the Crusades could’ve been more barbaric than Dresden and Hiroshima?"
The Crusades had a higher death toll than both combined. On the plus side, the Crusades also kept Islam from overruning Europe. Dresden and Hiroshima were bombed, nothing more. The Crusades spawned atrocities that eclipse the worst horrors of both bombings. Mr. Matt doesn't know history and it shows.

"Do you believe the so-called "Dark Ages" of Faith were less enlightened than..."
Yeah, they were. For starters, now we know that most illnesses are caused by bacteria and viruses and simple things like poor hygiene and not by demons.

"When do we get to stop with the Fake History?"
Easy. When we start actively ignoring shills like Mr. Matt, that's when.
