‘Better because older’ is a liturgical fallacy (Pius XII, “Mediator Dei”). There is a reason we prize cut and polished diamonds 💎 set in couples’ engagement bands rather than rough diamonds. We scrape off barnacles from the Barque of St. Peter. We do not frame them. They are dangerous accretions that can cause leaks, slow, and ultimately sink the ship. The Church discarded the Canon of Hippolytus back in the 3rd century for a reason. Protestants are antiquarians who think everything was better in the early Church before the Church became “corrupt”. Leave it and them in the dust bins of Church history. Bugnini then and Roche now pick through the trash of Church history, dust it off and call it art: NOM. This is a revolutionary tactic. Roche is nothing better than an historical dumpster diver! He believes a concocted pseudo-rite written in just under a hour by several Protestant liturgists in a Roman restaurant during Vatican II is somehow better than the Roman Rite of time immemorial. Take out the trash. Don’t foist it on us Catholics! Down with false archaism condemned by the Church!!
