Click that icon and submit a statement as to why you believe that such a post ought to be removed.

The uploader of a news article, video or picture has the option of permitting comments or not permitting them. This deliberate choice is made by the uploader of the item not Gloria. For whatever reason, it appears that iivari has chosen to prohibit postings on his news article.

Personally, I look forward to comments and will not prevent them on my news uploads with the small exception being that if the comments begin to get uncivil on a given thread, I will prevent future comments on that particular news item. However, this seldom happens.

Why your comments do not appear and then suddenly reappear is a mystery to me. Some members of Gloria would, of course, blame "Bergoglio" as they do with so many other problems affecting the Catholic Church. But, as far as I know, he moderates here very rarely especially now as he prepares for the October Synod of Bishops.

Individuals who post their own commentary and then link to their personal web pages are obviously wanting to simply generate 'hits' on their websites.

You, Galahad, are one of the few individuals here who posts timely legitimate news articles on the German NEWS page of Gloria.tv. Timely, relevant, interesting, Catholic NEWS, not personal commentary, was and still is the original purpose of the News Section on the English page and that concept was followed by News sections in other languages as well.

1) Deals with blatant disrespect and name calling directed toward the bishop of Rome. This was condemned as it should be under all circumstances especially when it occurs by Catholics at a Catholic website.

2) The news article above is a legitimate news article from a well known international website. In reading this article did you find any points that were incorrect or was it simply the tone of the article that upsets you?

I couldn't find factual errors. If the article disturbs you even though it is accurate, then you are simply "Shooting the Messenger."

I have been shot at many times by numerous posters when posting these kinds of 'uncomfortable' articles. It's a jungle out there and if we are not aware of what is being said about our Church and what arguments are being made, how in the world could we possibly be prepared to defend it against these kinds of attacks and worse.

It is about respect for the dignity of the office. Call it deference or common courtesy or simply being polite as you would in treating others with whom you disagree in your personal life.

Those things are absent when several posters at this website repeatedly refer to Francis as an heretic, an anti-Christ and not legitimate. By the way, it's no conincidence that these same posters are followers and proponents of the Irish schismatic fraud, MDM.

There are acceptable ways to point out differences and questions in a respectable way and then there's what we've seen here at Gloria.

The phrase "I know it when I see it" is a colloquial expression by which a speaker attempts to categorize an observable fact, although the category is subjective or lacks clearly defined parameters. The phrase was famously used in this sense by United States Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart to describe his threshold test for obscenity (pornography).

Regarding Pope Francis, I believe most will know disrespect when one sees it.

A rhetorical device used for effect. We all know that there's nobody in hell anyway.

In case you haven't noticed, this is the English page of Gloria.tv. If you are unable to post and also to supply English links to major news outlets, don't post on this page. Instead, post on the Spanish/Mexican board where that sort of thing is accepted.

In addition, your obsession in trying to link Pope Francis with an acceptance of homo marriage, in spite of the contravening evidence to the contrary including the above post, says much more about you than it does about Francis.

Those so called "news sites" who claim that Cardinal Bergoglio approved of homo marriage when in Buenos Aires, demonstrate the classic example of cheap, trashy, tabloid journalism about a mythical occurrence that supposedly took place 16 months ago.

What the proponents of this slander need to ask themselves is, if it were true, why was such a huge news story not covered by the major news outlets (both secular and Catholic) when it allegedly occurred? Secular media especially salivate whenever they can blast the Catholic Church for anything. If the allegation were true, why would those news outlets not have run this bombshell of a story?

Furthermore, if the trashy news outlet's claim is true – that Francis did support homo marriage -- why then is Pope Francis so adamantly opposed to it now and also opposed to what follows, 'homo' adoption'?

If Francis at any time approved of either, the hypocrisy would have been a huge news story especially now considering that he states unequivocally that he is absolutely against both 'homo marriage' and homo adoption.

"There's a sucker born every minute" is a quip meaning that it is very simple to con people - most people. In the case of Catholics, I would rephrase it to “There's a sucker born every 30 seconds.”
