There are over 1000 postings made on Gloria.tv each day. It is impossible for the administration of Gloria.tv to read all of those postings and additionally do the other necessary duties needed for the proper functioning of the website.

We rely on each one of you to be our eyes and to monitor postings. If there is a post that is offensive, demeaning, insulting etc. toward another poster and, especially, if the post maliciously relates negatively to Pope Francis, report that posting. There is an icon on the right hand side of each post that allows a reader to report an offensive post (Report to Editors). Click that icon and submit a statement as to why you believe that such a post ought to be removed.

The administrators can then review the post and make their decision as to keep or remove that post. Only by means of your help, can Gloria.tv improve and become an even stronger Catholic website.

Thank you for your attention,

Why the Homosexuals are Winning

The reason they are winning is that America has forgotten that law is based on morals, not “fairness”. And, the moral base that was previously agreed upon was the Bible. It did not require that we kill homosexuals (any longer, since that was the Mosaic Law), but it clearly set out that adultery, homosexuality, dishonesty, thievery, murder, even gossip were wrong and not to be encouraged. The society has abandoned this view and taken up a non-existent, mish-mash of competing claims as the new moral foundation. Collapse will likely follow.

But, actually, the public is directing this march into oblivion. And, many of the so-called Christian organizations are falling into the same hole. We no longer look to the Scriptures to guide our lawmaking, we look to degenerate opinion.

Personally, I look forward to comments and will not prevent them on my news uploads with the small exception being that if the comments begin to get uncivil on a given thread, I will prevent future comments on that particular news item. However, this seldom happens.

Why your comments do not appear and then suddenly reappear is a mystery to me. Some members of Gloria would, of course, blame "Bergoglio" as they do with so many other problems affecting the Catholic Church. But, as far as I know, he moderates here very rarely especially now as he prepares for the October Synod of Bishops.

2) The news article above is a legitimate news article from a well known international website. In reading this article did you find any points that were incorrect or was it simply the tone of the article that upsets you?

I couldn't find factual errors. If the article disturbs you even though it is accurate, then you are simply "Shooting the Messenger."

I have been shot at many times by numerous posters when posting these kinds of 'uncomfortable' articles. It's a jungle out there and if we are not aware of what is being said about our Church and what arguments are being made, how in the world could we possibly be prepared to defend it against these kinds of attacks and worse.

In case you haven't noticed, this is the English page of Gloria.tv. If you are unable to post and also to supply English links to major news outlets, don't post on this page. Instead, post on the Spanish/Mexican board where that sort of thing is accepted.

In addition, your obsession in trying to link Pope Francis with an acceptance of homo marriage, in spite of the contravening evidence to the contrary including the above post, says much more about you than it does about Francis.

Pope: Same-Sex Marriage Is 'Anthropological Regression'

Those so called "news sites" who claim that Cardinal Bergoglio approved of homo marriage when in Buenos Aires, demonstrate the classic example of cheap, trashy, tabloid journalism about a mythical occurrence that supposedly took place 16 months ago.

Those so called "news sites" who claim that Cardinal Bergoglio approved of homo marriage when in Buenos Aires, demonstrate the classic example of cheap, trashy, tabloid journalism about a mythical occurrence that supposedly took place 16 months ago.

What the proponents of this slander need to ask themselves is, if it were true, why was such a huge news story not covered by the major news outlets (both secular and Catholic) when it allegedly occurred? Secular media especially salivate whenever they can blast the Catholic Church for anything. If the allegation were true, why would those news outlets not have run this bombshell of a story?

Furthermore, if the trashy news outlet's claim is true – that Francis did support homo marriage -- why then is Pope Francis so adamantly opposed to it now and also opposed to what follows, 'homo' adoption'?

If Francis at any time approved of either, the hypocrisy would have been a huge news story especially now considering that he states unequivocally that he is absolutely against both 'homo marriage' and homo adoption.

"There's a sucker born every minute" is a quip meaning that it is very simple to con people - most people. In the case of Catholics, I would rephrase it to “There's a sucker born every 30 seconds.”

Pope: Same-Sex Marriage Is 'Anthropological Regression'

In 2010, then-Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio called same-sex 'marriage' an "anti-value and an anthropological regression." In a conversation with Rabbi Abraham Skorka published in the book “On Heaven and Earth”, he said same-sex 'marriage' is a weakening of the institution of marriage, an institution that has existed for thousands of years and is “forged according to nature and anthropology.”

The title, along with the accompanying text, is derived directly from the source, “MailOnline.” The weaknesses of the points being put forward are clear to those who take the time to read the article. That's the key. This article and all news briefs articles are to be READ in their entirety although that may be a problem for those who are not English native speakers.

In addition, for those who are slow to understand, my personal comments clarify, in no uncertain terms, the reason why Professor Swaab wrote this book and the Catholic position.

It is a cold, increasingly pagan, anti-religious world filled with material that is either false or true and good or evil. It is the responsibility of each individual Catholic to be well informed in order to be able to tell the difference.

If you or anyone else still objects to the title or to the text, complain directly to the source linked below.

The homosexual lobby has triumphed so that favorable items abound everywhere including the Vatican ("Who am I to judge").

The above book is one such example of an author who is attempting to normalize deviant behavior by openly writing mistruths. Hence, I wrote the note at the bottom of the posting.

When stories are posted about Catholic colleges promoting homosexual clubs and parties or when stories are written about Catholic churches having special “LGBT Masses” Catholics at Gloria universally understand (without my writing any notes) that this is not proper for Catholic Churches and universities to promote. Yet, when a pro-homo book from a secular author is reviewed, Catholics object?

Don't be afraid. Shine the light of truth on all of the crap whether it occurs in a Catholic Church or is on the shelf of a bookstore. It is then that Catholics can be informed and avoid stepping in it.

Those of us who remain true to the doctrines and discipline of the Catholic Faith have been dropped into the middle of a fierce war between Christ’s Church and the ‘Culture of Death’ and in the heat of this battle we find we have no generals to lead us. What’s worse is that the generals are either ignoring the war by pretending it’s not happening or even negotiating over drinks with the enemy the Church’s terms of surrender. Thank you Mario Palmaro for putting into words the sense of abandonment and desertion that many Catholics have been feeling for a long time in their local churches

Also vocations – which are languishing in every diocese – are growing at an impressionable rate with the FFI. A community indeed blessed by God.

So, last July 11, the Vatican Congregation for Religious decided to target this flourishing religious family with an external commissioner.

Lynn was the first U.S. church official ever charged for hiding complaints that priests were molesting children. He was the point person for those complaints in Philadelphia from 1992-2004.

Prosecutors charged him with felony child endangerment. But the appeals court said the law that existed at the time didn't cover people who don't directly supervise children. His conviction was overturned after Lynn served 18 months behind bars.

"The Superior Court ruling does not vindicate Msgr. Lynn's past decisions," Chaput wrote. "Nor does it absolve the archdiocese from deeply flawed thinking and action in the past that resulted in bitter suffering for victims of sexual abuse and their families."

The Philadelphia archdiocese has been in the cross hairs of city prosecutors since 2002, when the priest-abuse scandal broke in Boston. Lynn, Cardinal Anthony Bevilacqua and other church officials -- accompanied by lawyers -- were grilled for days by an earlier grand jury that issued a damning report in 2005 but concluded that no charges could be filed.

"I understand and accept the anger felt toward the Archdiocese by many of our people and priests, as well as the general public, for the ugly events of the past decade," Chaput wrote. "Only time and a record of honest conversion by the Archdiocese can change that."

Sarmina (Common Pleas Court Judge M. Teresa Sarmina) acknowledged that Lynn sometimes sent accused priests for therapy, but she said he ultimately protected the church's reputation over the souls of children. She sentenced him to three-to-six years in prison.

Lynn's conviction stems from the transfer of accused priest Edward Avery to a new parish, where he was later accused of raping a former altar boy in the church sacristy. Avery pleaded guilty and is serving 2 1/2- to five years in prison, although he denied the assault when called to testify at Lynn's trial.

Carsten Frerk, who specializes on church finances in Germany, said German bishops’ reluctance to follow Francis’ new course is no surprise.

“The German Catholic Church is one of the country’s wealthiest and largest organizations and its top officials expect a certain lifestyle,” said Frerk, who has published two books on the German churches’ wealth and what he describes as their opaque financing. “But they are wary of the extent of their wealth becoming broadly known because it might lead to fewer donations.”

There are 23 million German Catholics who have declared their faith and by law must pay 8 to 10 percent of their incomes to their respective churches. That brought the Catholic Church $7.1 billion in tax revenue in 2012.

In an allocution to the Federation Mondiale des Jeunesses Feminines Catholiques, His Holiness Pope Pius XII condemned this new ethics whose main features are characterized in the following terms:

The distinctive mark of this morality is that it is in fact in no way based on universal moral laws, for instance, on the Ten Commandments, but on the real and concrete conditions or circumstances in which one must act, and according to which the individual conscience has to judge and choose. This state of things is unique and valid but once for each human action. This is why the supporters of this ethics affirm that the decision of one's conscience cannot be commanded by universal ideas, principles, and laws....

In the determination of conscience, the individual encounters God immediately and makes up his mind before Him, without the intervention in any way of any law, any authority, any community, any cult or confession.

If unfettered capitalism is less than ideal...What about capitalism balanced by strong voluntary charitable organizations that hold the trust of volunteers and donors?

Now, lets look at the other side, unfettered socialism or communism. IT KILLS MILLIONS, AND PREVENTS FREE EXERCISE OF RELIGION and many other God-given rights.

Which system is due commentary and guidance from religious leaders?

“unequal distribution of wealth inevitably leads to violence”

Francis is talking about money and the control of it by governments and not God as a solution.

What is wrong with the poor if they become violent in coveting the money of others? What would be missing in their lives? It wouldn’t be money, would it? Wouldn’t that mean that the poor are also worshiping money?

Perhaps Pope Francis should write another apostolic exhortation this time directed to the poor?

The Age At Which People First Get Married Is Soaring

By all means marry. If you get a good wife, you’ll be happy.
If you get a bad one, you’ll become a philosopher.

German Catholics can stay in the Church only if they pay membership tax

Note:

To put this in simple terms....everyone in Germany has a right to quit the Church Tax. The downside is from that day on...no church wedding, no church funeral, and no confirmation activity for your kids. The average guy (figure $35k a year)....pays roughly $500.

Now, from a historical prospective...folks in the 1980s....were not keen on quitting. They all wanted the funeral. Some made the decision after the wedding to quit and just accept the deal. Over the past twenty years...several folks have opened chapels and a number of lay ministers conduct funeral services for roughly two to three hundred bucks. This makes it interesting to quit and just accept a cheaper deal.

It would appear that the Church Tax is dying off and income is less each and every year. It might take another fifty years....but Germany and it’s eighty million might dwindle down to 100,000 tax-paying Catholics, and ninety percent of the Catholic churches would dissolve into the real estate market.

It’s all fair....if you don’t want membership....you don’t pay the tax. Just accept the consequences later when your funeral comes up.

Whether it is right or wrong is a totally different issue and further proof that there is no institution -- pure or corrupt -- that the State cannot make worse. Recent revelations of "the Bling Bishop" add another toxic element to the saga of the 'Church tax.' (ED)
