Public prosecutor Zafer Dur in İzmir, Turkey, has prepared an indictment against individuals who were arrested over their alleged links to the faith-based Gülen movement which, according to the Turkish regime, planned the failed coup-d’état against the Erdögan regime. The indictment includes the claim that Turkish Islamic scholar Fethullah Gülen who lives in the U.S., was appointed as a secret “in pectore” cardinal by John Paul II in 1998.

No Protestant: Fr Mark Ervin, a priest of Washington archdiocese passed away last January from a heart condition. Fr. Ervin was a convert from Protestantism. For many years it had been his habit to begin Mass by calling out, “Good morning, Church!”. One day he turned to his deacon and asked him what he thought about his manner of offering the Holy Mass. The deacon responded, “Like a Protestant.” After these words Fr Ervin changed his way of celebrating Mass radically almost overnight. By the time he died he was close to joining the Society of St. Pius X.
