Future Blessed: Only Eternity Gives Meaning

On June 13th the cause of beatification was opened for the Italian laywoman Chiara Corbella (+2012), who died at the age of 28. She was diagnosed with cancer while being pregnant to her third child, and refused all treatment, that would have harmed her unborn child. One year after giving birth to her son Francesco she died.

Before dying, she wrote to her son: “Whatever you do, it will only be meaningful, if you think about eternal life. If you truly love, you will realize that nothing belongs to you, because everything is a gift.”
