Catholics actually more liberal on some issues

Despite the Roman Catholic Church's official opposition to abortion and embryonic stem-cell research, a Gallup analysis finds almost no difference between rank-and-file American Catholics and American non-Catholics in terms of finding the two issues morally acceptable.

It's always about sex, whether it's abortion, stem cells, homosexuals, unmarried hetero's who refuse to be chaste or married's who insist on practicing contraception. In order to justify our own sinful acts, many people refuse to condemn the sinful acts of others. No one wants to feel guilt or shame for their acts. It's much easier to justify themselves by refusing to recognize sin in others.

Evangelicals put Catholics to shame in their being on the Biblical side of social issues. Being well catechized would be a tremendous help to Catholics but that's not going to happen with do nothing, cowardly bishops, priests and their defenders among the laity who refuse to preach Catholicism unambiguously and without reservation.
