Best Friend of Leo XIV: "No Chance He Brings Back the Roman Rite"

Cardinal Robert Prevost "knew", he might be elected Pope, Father Alejandro Moral, Prior General of the Augustinians, told Domradio.de on 17 June: "Roberto was mentioned in some newspapers as one of several possible candidates."

Judging by his abilities, he had had a good chance of becoming pope: "I have also spoken to him about it." Father Moral is a very good friend of Pope Leo XIV, some even say his closest friend. They have known each other since 1981, when the two Augustinians studied together in Rome.

Asked whether Pope Leo XIV would take a different approach to the Mass in the Roman Rite than Pope Francis, Father Moral replied: "I think it is excluded that this topic will resurface under Leo XIV."

Father Moral supports the suppression of Mass: "As members of the Church, we must all do our part to ensure that we remain in communion. This also applies to groups that promote the Old Mass."

He describes Leo XIV as a pleasant, simple, calm and level-headed man: "When we presided the Eucharist, he often played the organ. He is very good at it. He is also a good singer. We often went for walks together, too. He is simply a very normal person."

Pope Francis "very much appreciated" Cardinal Prevost, Father Moral recalled: "He really liked him. He told me that several times. He didn't appoint him bishop, Prefect of the Congregation for Bishops and Cardinal for no reason."

Father Moral seriously believes that Francis was "a saint", and he is upset by the way he has been spoken of since his death.

Apparently the BC-BBC interviewed one of Simon's best friends about him after his conversion to become the first Pope. His friend said that he was a hothead and a coward and would never take a bold stance against the Sanhedrin.
Well, that friend was wrong about Peter. Certainly, Leo has not made a Simon like conversion but I pray for it. As the Synodal Church continues to collapse, Leo would need to be an idealogue of Bergolian proportions to not realize the only path forward is to turn back, back to the Apostolic Faith.

I am beginning to think that Augustinians are experts at wishcasting.

"Father Moral believes that Francis was a saint, and he is upset by the way he has been spoken of since his death." Fr. Moral, where have you been? People have been speaking poorly but very deservedly about Francis since he took the office of pope. And you are upset now?

And I like this: "As members of the Church, we must all do our part to ensure that we remain in communion. This also applies to groups that promote the Old Mass." In other words, please don't back away when we kick you in the teeth.

As members of the Church, we must all do our part to ensure that we remain in communion.
So does this also apply to groups that promote the "New Mass?" Just asking.
But please do not give me this rot about one Latin Rite, when we have the Latin Rite Anglican Use, and the Latin Rite Mayan Use ("Rite"), and basically whatever Fran thought he could kick over the fence.

Hi Daniel,
Isn't it interesting that the Latin Rite doesn't use Latin in it's liturgy......... jus sayin

It is just a personal impression, but I think that we are and will be seeing more of the phrase "Roman Rite." The Ell Word is just too gauche for prelates who never bothered to study it.

Let me sum it up...Prevost's buddy: "he is a wolf just like his boss Bergoglio". The only question is: why are Burke and Schneider telling us otherwise???

if you read very carefully, Burke and Schneider are expressing prudent hopes; emphasizing any positive glimmer. Also, Burke does not ever confront except in a legalistic way. Remember, he never 'pushed' Bergolio to respond to his Dubia...the legalistic way is to wait Schneider is a dear, sweet, gentle soul who seems to believe that goodness will push out evil ( al la JPII)

that's sweet, but the Church is burning down and more and more souls of deceived Catholics are lost to Hell. It seems that shepherds don't really care about these souls or that they prioritize their relationship with Bergoglio and Prevost to salvation of souls which should be their core duty.
