I'm a Texan and I've traveled all over the U.S. and Europe. I would say native Texans are the friendliest people in the world, we look a persons character, not their identity politics. I can't say that about even the other so called southern states. There are a lot people moving here from the North and West Coast, mostly to Dallas, Houston, and Austin, that have changed the dynamics. Many, when the East and West coastees get frustrated with our conservative culture leave in a few years. Texas is unique, and sui generis. We were our own nation for 10 years, ( and no Texan will let you forget that), and the Texas constitution still allows for succession if the Feds become tyrannical and it passes a majority vote by the citizens. It's neither "the South" or a Western state, it's just Texas the Lone Star State!
