What Attracts Homosexuals to the Priesthood?

About a month ago, in Crisis, Kevin Wells suggested that one cause for Bishop Strickland’s dismissal was the ire of other bishops at his raising the issue …

There’s no doubt that the Novus ordo attracts the campy and emotive sort. The influence of the “tames” is also very influential. Make no mistake; homosexual priests, so long as they are capable, make their way “up the ladder.” There are also some homosexual priests who are so obviously limp wristed that their gay priest peers don’t want anything to do with them. There is also an even bigger homosexual influence in many religious orders than there is in the average diocese.

No one wants to admit it, but this is true. Once evil Pope Francis and his people are gone, don't be surprised if the new Pope wants to clean up the total disaster and wreck Francis and company made of the Catholic Church, and decides to give complete and free access everywhere to the traditional Roamn Rite, forbidding persecution or restrictions by Bishops etc. WITHIN a few years, vocations will …More

Old Orders will start founding monasteries that use the traditional Rite, and new Orders of friars, monks, nuns, and active sisters will be founded using the old Rite...all the while the remnant Orders still clinging to the Novus Ordo and the failed progressivism of the Vatican II and Francis era will be nearly extinct.

It's true. The N.O. Mass is man-centered and good priests I've spoken to who celebrate it (either because they are limited by authority or think it's obedient to do so) say that it takes A LOT of concentration to keep the focus on worship of God. Some have tried offering ad orientum (facing East) and says it helps, but that's been forbidden mostly. Even at 'conservative' parishes you get priests …More

Even at 'conservative' parishes you get priests who treat the liturgy as showcasing their personality. Plus the practice of "lay ministers" just adds to the whole competition for attention. It's so cringe-worthy! 😤

Here we go again. The fake priest 'Fr Jonn' (aka Catholic Doors, aka Fr Jonn Miller, aka Jonn Miller, aka Fr Jonn etc, etc Catholic Doors Ministry - Who we are ) is arguing against claims which the original article didn't even make. And for someone who would have had to pass all sorts of qualifications to become a priest, he is remarkably ignorant. He doesn't even know how to spell 'ridiculous'. …More

And for someone who would have had to pass all sorts of qualifications to become a priest, he is remarkably ignorant. He doesn't even know how to spell 'ridiculous'. He's put 'rediculous' in the comment below, but will probably change/delete that, as he usually does. I've screen-shotted the original post for when he removes it. He has blocked me by the way, unsurprisingly - no fake-priest troll likes to be exposed. NO-ONE is suggesting that the sin of homosexuality is new. The title of the thread was 'What attracts homosexuals to the priesthood?' Jonn, if you haven't got any reasonable thoughts to bring to the debate, then keep quiet. Remember Abraham Lincoln's dictum: "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt".

I think the soft, novus ordo, Vatican II church is a lot more appealing to homosexuals. Also, they don't have to worry if anyone finds out, as few of their congregations will care anyway. In some cases they are knowingly ordained as either being homosexuals or supporters of that lifestyle: Welcome: Gay Propagandist Becomes Priest and GAY EX-ANGLICAN CLERIC TO BE CATHOLIC PRIEST | VirtueOnline –…More

The tough ascetic path of the traditional priesthood would be more appealing to normal men.

What attracts homos to the priesthood? The thought of having power, and the creative license since Vatican II to do whatever they want....which they have since Vatican II, especially in the liturgy.
