Bishop Released From Prison

Matagalpa Bishop Rolando Álvarez, 56, Nicaragua, who was sentenced in February to 26 years in prison, was released on Monday, writes Reuters. Negotiations between the government and the country's bishops had included the possibility of exiling Álvarez. If the bishop refused to leave the country, which he has already done, he could be sent back to prison.
