Francis and Zanchetta: Liberals Protect Each Other

Inés San Martín, CruxNow.com's leading journalist on the Zanchetta case, suggested on Twitter.com (August 10) that Francis might have acted out of a "sense of charity" in bringing the former Oran bishop, Argentina, to Rome while allegations against him were investigated.

She admits that ample evidence of homosexual misconduct against Zanchetta were parked in a drawer, with Francis choosing "to believe his friend.” San Martín recalls that when the allegations “escalated,” Francis again "trusted" Zanchetta, and only later sent him to Spain for a "therapy."

The journalist insists that Francis took too long to act because - again - "he trusted a friend." San Martín moralises that "we’ve all trusted a person and then realised we shouldn’t have.”

This interpretation is unlikely, not only because power-hungry Francis trusts only himself, but also because liberals regard homosex offences as peccadilloes and liberals protect each other.
