Homosex Abuser, Protected By Francis, Faces Trial

Francis' personal friend, former Oran Bishop Gustavo Zanchetta, will face an October trial in Argentina on allegations of homosexual abuse against two seminarians.

Local media reported that he was summoned under penalty of law. At least 39 witnesses are expected to testify. The court will be composed of three judges, one woman and two men.

Zanchetta - considered a notorious homosexual with naked selfies and other inappropriate pictures on his phone - is a personal friend of Francis and was his first episcopal appointment in Argentina. He resigned 2017 citing "health reasons."

Francis protected Zanchetta by shifting him to an APSA (Vatican Investment Bank) position which was specially created for him. In 2019 he interrupted this work but returned to Rome in 2020. CruxNow couldn’t find out if Francis is still paying Zanchetta.
