Pope Leo XIV Personally Called his Peruvian Hairdresser: "Could You Come to the Vatican?"

Pope Leo XIV remains with his barber, who is from Peru and lives in Rome. In an interview with LaStampa.it on 26 July, Mario Reyes revealed that Cardinal Prevost was a monthly customer at his hairdressing salon near the Vatican. After the election, Reyes thought he would never see him again.

But at the end of May, Reyes received a personal phone call from the Pope.

Leo XIV said: "Good morning. I need a haircut tomorrow at my place."

Mario asked back: "But who are you?"

Leo XIV replied: "Robert Prevost."

The Pope apologised for not being able to come to the barbershop as usual. Reyes went to the Vatican and cut the Pope's hair, as well as that of his secretary Edgard Rimaycuna.

Cardinal Prevost’s former fitness trainer has already publicly attested to his excellent physical condition.

His predecessor, Pope Francis, was known for attracting media attention by meeting with ice cream vendors, opticians, and orthopedists.

When he identified himself on the phone to his barber as, "This is Robert Prevost," he may have actually given his correct name.

Prevost has the same goal as Bergoglio: discrediting the Church and losing souls.
Prevost is dedicated to pleasing the world
Archbishop Viganò: Bergoglio's intention is to harm souls, discredit the Church, and offend God.

And these are the superfluous articles in the newspaper La Stampa, nothing that promotes holiness.

As far as a fitness trainer, physical health is a tremendous asset under the demands and stress of enormous responsibilities. Can't fault him for that. Monks labored in the fields, etc., and kept their physical fitness that way. I only pray and hope he will use his stamina and strength to stand up against those destroying the Church. As far as the barber -- men need haircuts and his is simple and conservative...perhaps that's why he wants to keep the same barber....! 😉 He would have had to tap someone for the task, so why not the person who has already done it for years to simplify matters?

Why does any priest need a barber, and a personal hairdresser? Vanity of vanities.

A fitness trainer and personal barber? Weird, and I am worrying about guess what.

No one has been involved in saving souls in the Vatican for a long time, but there is a skilled hairdresser.

Yes, it’s of utmost importance to keep your barber.

I don't see anything wrong with the Pope having a personal barber, or physical fitness coach/ advisor. Pope's in the past have had lots of personal cooks, clothing cleaners, and attendants. You have to have people around you as Pope that you can trust. If Pope Leo works out at the Vatican gym, perhaps with the Swiss Guard that can be seen as a expression of masculine Christianity. We laymen are tired of effeminate Pope's! God made us men to be strong, so that we can protect our wives, family, and Church!

The way I read this article is different from the misleading headline. I read the text to mean that the Pope got his hair cut in Rome by a barber who was originally from Peru, and that since becoming Pope, he is keeping the Roman barber. The way I read the headline, it seemed to insinuate that the Pope called a barber who lives in Peru to come to Rome to cut his hair.
