That someone with gender dysphoria wants to dedicate his or her life to prayer and penance as a hermit is a good thing. What the Church cannot do is ratify falsehood. A woman with two X chromosomes is not a man, it would be participation in the sin of another to confirm a lie. Hopefully a life of prayer will help Nicole reconcile with her true self.
