Rebellion against Francis in the Argentine Bishops' Conference

The Bishops' Conference of Argentina announced its new leadership on November 12. The president is Archbishop Marcelo Colombo of Mendoza. He is considered to be an educated man, but he is a pure politician. The two vice-presidents are Cardinal Sixto Rossi of Córdoba and Bishop César Fernández of Jujuy.

Caminante-Wanderer.blogspot.com gives details. At the time of the election of the new president, all the bishops knew that Francis had "synodically" dictated that Monsignor Colombo should be elected.

However, by far the most votes were cast for Bishop Cesar Fernández.

Francis' faction "did not see it coming" and "went crazy". They pressured and threatened. Therefore, Monsignor Fernández withdrew his candidacy for the sake of "peace". This is how Archbishop Colombo was finally elected.

Probably one of the reasons for the rebellion is that the bishops are tired of being subjected to the mafias that depend on Santa Marta.

Since they lacked the courage to see their "rebellion" through, allowing Francis's pick to eventually win, all this was really little beyond infantile foot stomping against Nasty Daddy. But, as usual, Nasty Daddy is better at foot stomping than the little guys and will be taking his swift and fatal revenge momentarily.

Francis Ford Coppola may have enough material from the Bergoglio tenure to make The Godpapa.
