Latin is the language of the first martyrs, our fathers in faith. By praying in Latin, we are de facto confessing the same faith as our ancestors.

I am glad I visited Turin when I did over 45 years ago. Tourists who traveled before the council, always felt at home when they went to Mass because it was the same everywhere, in Latin. Now, tourists stay away from Mass because it is not in their native tongue.
