Francis Disappoints South Sudan, Poor Communication

Archbishop Paulino Lukudu Loro of Juba, South Sudan, did not hide his disappointment after Pope Francis cancelled his much-advertised trip to South Sudan, scheduled for October.

"The country is disappointed by this news, Loro said to InBlu Radio, "I was not informed about this." Loro admitted, that he did not know the reason for the cancellation. According to him the Vatican Security had already met the Apostolic Nuncio and even the prime minister.

Loro added, "It seemed to me that this visit would have gone well. Everything was positive. I do not know what happened in the meantime. The preparations proceeded very well. The country is not entirely where it should be, but despite this there was much hope among the people and the government. Everyone was ready for the visit of the Holy Father."
