Pope Francis Takes Care of a Pacifier
During yesterday’s Wednesday audience, pope Francis used, for the first time, the Spanish language when addressing the Argentinean soccer Club Atlético S. Lorenzo. The team started off playing in a Church's backyard with the condition that they would also go to mass on Sundays. During the audience, the pope had to put a dummy pacifier back into the mouth of a toddler who was handed to him.
Difficult Situation of the Catholics in Europe
Vast demographic shifts in the Catholic population are moving the Church’s center from Europe, Catholic News Service writes. Whereas two-thirds of the world's Catholics lived in Europe in 1910, fewer than a quarter do today. European Catholics have declined from 38.5 percent to 23.7 percent of the population since the Second Vatican Council.
